Speakers coach

Fantastic book for anyone who's taking public speaking of presentation seriously. Really enjoyed reading this book and adding to my watchlist and reading list of all the books and TED videos the author recommends.

This book gives you lots of practical advice on how to deliver an effective speech or lecture live. For online meetings, some adaptation will be necessary, but the basics still stand.

My own thoughts: Delivering a speech is like …
- Standup comedy: make it look easy and spontaneous, not rehearsed.
- Agile product development: give the audience what they didn’t know they needed.
- Leadership: every leader is different, but all are effective in their own way.

This is a good resource for those looking for ideas on improving their presentation materials without a lot o detailed instruction. There is a ton of information in outline form to help you focus on preparing better presentation.

The weakness is that there is very little detail on how to do the things that are outlined.

If you are looking for something to point you in the right direction or help you focus as you prepare a presentation this is an excellent resource.
