I love finding these little gems, plays that have been forgotten or maybe even never really known that much that are still really good and somehow still very relevant.
As the war rages in Ukraine, I think it's helpful to look back to how Russia got where it is today. How the dreams of Perestroika turned into a cheap and gaudy imitation of what democracy is supposed to look like. How quickly Russia fell into organized crime and betrayals at all levels.
Plus, this play is super funny and ends with a hilarious musical number. What's not to love?
