Barbara Thompson Howell has served as editor in chief of the Silver-Burdett Company and as an editorial executive at Time Inc. A Whippany, New Jersey resident, she is the sixth generation of her family to live on the same street in the same town and has spent almost three decades researching and documenting her family's history.
