The Black Bunny Hop is the story of Pat Lacey, whose Playboy career spanned the entire organization, including Bunny, Jet Bunny, Bunny Mother and Coordinator of Playmate Promotions. Pat Lacey rejected what the world told her to be and became what she was born to be, a woman on the frontlines of the 20th Century cultural revolution. She takes you behind the scenes of the Playboy organization and the exciting world of being a Playboy Bunny.
Good god, this booked needed some extensive editing. It was ultimately very interesting, and a first person account about a topic I am deeply interested in, but it was also so repetitive, with many grammar, spelling and just structural mistakes throughout. The author also comes off as highly obnoxious, self-congratulatory and preachy. In the end, I’m still happy I read this, as it has invaluable information about the topic.
A completely different look at Playboy than I have been getting. Great historical context, fun celeb name drops, incredible visuals of the time period and pages of pictures at the end. If you love the Playboy lore, you’ll love this. Conversational in style and an easy uplifting read.
I really enjoyed this. It wasn't a literary masterpiece but rather a warm, comfortable and interesting read. Almost as if you were sitting and listening to Lacey chat about her fascinating life!
I thought this would be a fitting book to review this weekend given the title.
I first heard about Pat Lacey on the TV show ‘Girls Next Door’ when a few of the girls were getting into their bunny costumes, so when I heard about this book on the @girlsnextlevel_podcast I had to read it!
An interesting read and I soaked up all of the info! A comfortable and fascinating read.
