(Read in German) This was a really good novel about persecution of witches in the Holy Roman Empire, but frankly was a bit of a slog. The vocabulary was specialist/archaic/Southern German and there was a large cast of characters over quite a long period of time. However, it is hugely thought-provoking about what really motivated the searching out of devil worshippers/witches and the reliability of denunciations and confessions.
