The story of Michelangelo's masterpiece after it was created is a fascinating one and this small book gives a brief history of David's afterlife. After a very brief biography of the artist, Falletti gives a larger biography of the David's life from its intended start as a church exterior sculpture to its status as world famous icon. The story relating the move of the "Colosseus" first to Florence's central square and later to its current resting place at the city's Academy of Fine Arts is well worth the minimal effort it takes to get through this book.
