A tale of horror in the classic gothic tradition, The Abbot's Book follows four generations of a noble Italian family and their response to temptation and corruption brought about by a mysterious book. The story takes place in 17th century Italy, and is a spiritual heir to Poe and Lovecraft, as well as classic gothic fiction like "The Monk", and "The Mysteries of Udolpho". Contains numerous illustrations by a host of exceptional artists collaborating with the author.
There are a lot of self-published books out there. Most of the ones I've read aren't very good. This little tale, however, is an exception. It's a well written horror story about the curse of immortality. If you like H.P. Lovecraft or Edgar Allan Poe you'll like this story. It's a good one.
