Late at night, while Samantha and Roger sleep, their toy blocks kind-a, might-a, sort-a engineer a way back into the children’s lives . . . and hearts.
The Blocks Come Out at Night is the first book in a series aimed at children in Kindergarten through 3rd grade. The book introduces fun engineering concepts through fast-paced and engaging storytelling. There is also a clever cultural element woven into each book that will have young readers eager to explore the world around them.
UPDATE: This book has officially been reviewed and verified by STEM.org, world leading STEM accreditation organization. This means that the book meets all of their criteria to be considered a valuable vehicle for delivering STEM content.
A great STEM-fueled book for kids that uses humor and natural curiosity to introduce engineering and science concepts. The book's sweet spot is probably first or second grade, but my preschooler and older elementary children love it as well. The book includes an activity to illustrate the key topic. The publisher promises more in the series.
The Blocks Come Out at Night is a very cute and creative story! Samantha and Roger wake up one morning to discover the Eiffel Tower has mysteriously appeared in the middle of their room. How did that happen? Who turned their blocks—which they haven’t played with in AGES—into a famous landmark?
The story is both engaging and educational. Kids (and grow ups!) will learn about architecture, languages, and creative collaboration in this charmingly illustrated book.
The Blocks Come Out at Night is a cute children’s book that educates kids as it entertains. My daughter is fascinated by France and enjoyed learning about the Eiffel Tower.
