I really admire Marni for embarking on her amazing solo travels, and that her experiences involved not only some R&R but also volunteer opportunities as well, and I really like that she took the time to consciously analyze her role and impact as a tourist. I think she'd be an awesome travel companion! I do wish the book had included a map or itinerary to give the reader some context about where we were going and for how long, and I wish the cover had commas, so I wasn't left wondering when the orphaned gorilla was going to show up! :-D

This is a great book for anyone who is thinking of travelling or someone who wishes they could travel. Marni has written a wonderful personal experience through the loss of her parents and her identity and how she gained confidence and intelligence through travel and different cultures and experiences.
