I have read the book, "Prayers That Rout Demons" by John Eckhardt, so I was looking forward to reading "The Good Land."
John Eckhardt describes the Good Land as a picture of Kingdom Living. "The land is Christ; Christ is the Promised Land. Christ is our inheritance. So blessings, prosperity, peace, shalom, favor, land flowing with milk and honey - all these are types and symbols of what it means to live in Christ and to walk and live in the Spirit" (pg.7).
The Author bases his text on Bible verses, various translations of Scripture and quotes other writers. "There are great, great blessings, benefits, and promises that come to you as a child of God" (pg.13). In Chapter One, John Eckhardt talks about the ten keys to possessing the Good Land. There are personal questions to take a self-inventory as to why you may not be living in the Good Land. Chapter Two is all about coming into and receiving God's Best. Chapter Three is about separating from people or things in life that are holding you back and causing you division or strife. "God is calling you to migrate out of the old and into the new" (pg.44). Chapter Four is about clearing the sins the defile the Good Land. The author gives a scripture-by-scripture review of the attributes and characteristics of the Good Land. To speak out loud and declare over yourself are Good Land Confessions at the end.
