This is an oversized book full of lovely pictures of the formal gardens designed by Randall Page, who designed more of these gardens than anyone in history, and who participated fully in the execution of his designs, bending his back and getting his hands dirty alongside the gardeners of great estates and grand public spaces. He loved to learn from the people who lived and worked on these estates and is one of the few designers who traveled extensively to work in many countries and on almost every continent.
