This was a strange one for me, for one I don’t know how the book landed on my sewing bookshelf. Now, I know I’m not alone in this. You’ve all had books appear and you don’t know how or why, right? Tell me it’s not just me. Is there a book fairy or something?
I digress. Ok. The book was first published in 1996, I was not even alive (lie). I have the 2003 updated version. I was 2 years old in 2003 (also a lie). Well the pics are very 1990’s. All the fabric is very 1990’s. I have difficulty looking at a sewing book, seeing fabric that I find cringeworthy, and getting past that - trying to see the same quilt or sewing project in a fabric that’s more to my liking. Anybody else out there like that? I mean the 1980’s I suppose would be worse for me. I’d in no way get past fluorescent yellow and pink. So I guess I lucked out the book fairy brought me a 1990’s book.
Anyhoo, I found the book very informative (although somewhat dated - technology killed some of their techniques). I also got through it finding 9 projects I am considering. Some I will adapt their project into something more me, but still it’s something!
Overall it’s a pretty decent book. Thank you book fairy!
