This book was not bad, but it also wasn't anything special. The heroine feels like she is always the buddy of men and she has been attracted to the hero for a while who comes into the shop she works at. One day there is a robbery attempt and the hero's bullet injures her, bringing him into her orbit. We learn the hero too has been attracted to her, he is a cop nearing burn-out. The book is about the heroine recuperating at the hero's home, not believing that the hero is attracted to her and even his words of love. Of course it ends with a HEA, no major drama involved.

This was pretty fast paced and adorable. The hero and heroine knew each other a bit and both held interest in each other. Nothing comes off it until the day there is a robbery and hostage situation in the heroine’s workplace. The hero, being a cop, shows up to save the day. They both make it alive but she’s harmed and needs help to get around. The hero volunteers himself due to his interest in the heroine and genuine kindness. There romance blossoms from there and I loved the way he was adamant about his growing love for her. She was hesitant to start anything but the hero didn’t let that stop him and it was what I always enjoy reading.
