In this book Lu K'uan Yu discusses the theory of both Hinayana and Mahayana Buddhism as practiced in China. The author presents the stories of two modern Buddhists who have achieved spiritual awakening and followed the path of enlightenment Ch'an Masters in China.
An interesting read, but far from practical! This is a book for people with experience and knowledge in Buddhism, intermediate or advanced level. He assumes you know the terms he is using throughout and the Buddhist concepts are not explained in an introductory way. The stories of Chinese masters are very interesting, but I would really only recommend this book to people already quite engrossed in the study/practice of (Chinese) Buddhism.
