What Price Zion
As Ann Littlefield listens to the elders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in a rented hall in Portsmouth, England, her pulse quickens. A growing excitement starts somewhere in the pit of her stomach and spreads rapidly through her veins What these ordinary-looking men from America are saying is true - undeniably and marvelously true. Ann's sister accepts the Church at once, and Ann rushes home to share the joyous news with her husband. But Will Littlefield is appalled. Ann clings to her testimony and to a promise revealed to her in a dream. She prays for Will's conversion, cares for her nine children, and longs for the day when the Littlefields can gather to Zion. Ann's prayers are answered, but often in startling ways that test her. But she endures, and in the enduring she forges an indomitable spirit. The story of Ann Littlefield is based on a true account.

5 stars because of personal ties. This was a fantastic read as Ann Littlefield's 3rd great granddaughter. Following her journey from England to the United States, ending in Utah. My grandmother was so proud of her pioneer heritage via her mother's side and I grew up with the stories. I'm just recently starting to appreciate them.

I really liked this LDS historical novel based on the true story of Ann Fry Littlefield. She had to give up very much for her membership in the Church. I recommend this book to all who are interested in Church history.

I should've probably only given 4 stars because there are too many POV shifts, but this book is about my 3rd great grandmother and so to me it is powerful and inspiring. Even if you aren't related, the story is very interesting and it's a good read.

The story of an English convert to Mormonism in 1840's as told by her Utah great-granddaughter.

The story of Ann Littlefield, a convert to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was converted in England in the 1840's. Her husband opposed her activity in the Church and placed every obstacle in her way. This only proved to make her faith stronger.
Her story is very powerful. It merits five stars.
The writing is not so great and lowers the star value on my review.
