This book is in serious need of an editor. The same information is duplicated in many different areas of the book sometimes only 2 pages from the original quote or statement. I think over half the book is quotes from other sources and aren't put together in a cohesive manner. It all feels very disjointed. The recipes again need an editor and to be formatted in a more traditional recipe layout to make it easier for the reader to follow. Many recipes have a lot of other information that would be best complied and put in a different section of the book instead of long clinical quotes embedded in the recipe. There is some good info in the book but there is a lot of sifting through quotes from the main GAPS book that most people who are serious about GAPS have already read and don't need half of that book's quotes in this one.

This book is so poorly written its hard to get through. Some paragraphs are repeated over and over throughout the book. You can tell they were just copied and pasted. The recipes are so so and not written understandably.

My favorite line in Becky Plotner’s book is when she tells the reader to bake cookies to feed the hunters in your area. Thinking it humorous, I read it out loud to my children (an excuse to read from the book and maybe get their attention). I also liked when teenage boys told her family that they have the best food.

What I liked most about the book is how she relates new information from Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBride that is not in the books (from email or from conferences). For example, sometimes a person should push through a reaction and sometimes should back off. I learned about Alpha Gal, a condition which gives a person an allergic reaction to meat. There are many valuable suggestions about baths and foot bath materials.

Regarding the recipes, since I keep kosher, I will have to adapt and convert to make them usable (if anyone has interest in kashrut and GAPS issues, please contact me). I already made fermented coconut water and experimented with sourdough. I should continue with carrot juice. I am looking forward to trying the fermented cranberry sauce and kombucha before Thanksgiving.

i’m feel like this was slightly unorganized. I had to put lots of sticky tabs. but the actual info is invaluable while going through GAPS.
