Libraries face an uncertain future. Technological advances are continually rendering what they used to do—or, at the very least, the manner in which it used to be done—no longer the optimal way of curating and distributing information. How librarians respond to these changes, by either embracing the opportunities to use newly-available tools for fulfilling their mission, or ignoring them due to a fear of the unknown, will determine the success or failure of the profession in the years to come. This collection of writings presents the perspective of a librarian who works with an ever-evolving set of technologies to provide the best user experience possible. The topics addressed include discovery systems, web development, ethics, organizational effectiveness, and what the future may hold.
