From Office to School: Special Language and Internationalisation

Rate this book
Administrative practices varies from one country to another as a result of differences in history, ideology, etc. This variation is naturally reflected in the terminology of administration, which makes life difficult for those whose task it is to translate texts produced by adminsitrators. The translator is asked to make internationally understandable texts which are very national in character. For solving international communication problems in any environment, from office to school, we already have a base of continually expanding knowledge. The ambition of LSP didactics must be to keep track of all new developments and to create a synthesis of those elements which prove to be of durable quality. The articles in this volume are on themes ranging from didactic methods to technical media for instruction.
