Rate this book
Lionel Cramer, Earl of Blaize, is in a terrible state. He has just inherited a huge, disorganized library and hasn't a clue as how to put in order. When he decides to hire his old school chum Dracot as his librarian, the ever resourceful earl is sure he's solved the problem...until the very lovely Diana Gardiner arrives in Dracot's stead.

As sensible as she is pretty, Diana means no ruse. Poor Dracot had been her fiance until he was reported killed at Waterloo. Now, the lady is in desperate need of employment and sets out to prove her worth, despite the lord's ill-tempered repute. Soon sparks are flying and passions are flaring in the staid old library as the proper miss and the arrogant earl make some wondorous discoveries about life.. and love.

I absolutely adored this book! The characters were well developed and I fell in love with them right away, particularly the sweet Archie. This book was a pleasure to read and the mystery about Dracot was well written and developed. One of the best older regencies I've ever read.

I liked this one better than most romance novels. The characters were likeable and the story interesting.
