Rate this book
Three years after her fiance’s tragic death in an automobile accident, Lorna Parry still had not recovered from her grief. When the handsome, irascible widower Julian Kane was admitted as a patient to the small Scottish hospital where Lorna was a nurse, she was both attracted and repelled by his high-handed manner. But if Lorna was to risk her heart again, she would have a formidable enemy in the beautiful Isobel Garvin - a woman who would stop at nothing to become the second Mrs. Julian Kane!

I see that there isn't a review for this book so i will just write what is written on the back of my paperback.
Three years after her fiance's tragic death in an automobile accident, Lorna Parry still had not recovered from her grief, despite the attentions of young surgeon Jack Foster. Lorna felt she could never become involved with another man, when the handsome, irascible widower Julian Kane was admitted as a patient to the small Scottish hospital where Lorna was a nurse, she was both attracted and repelled by his high handed manner, she also felt a growing affection for Julian's young daughter Karen, an affection that the child returned. But the coldly beautiful Isobel's Garvin had staked a claim to Julian. If Lorna was to risk her heart again, she would have a formidable enemy in Isobel's, who would stop at nothing to become the second Mrs. Julian Kane!

If I must be honest this book was rather boring. I am not sure if it is due to the time that it was written in (my copy is from 1981) or the writing style. The characters were 2 dimensional and I just couldn't care less about them. Overall its a good book if you need something for falling asleep ...fast!
