The story isn't very meaningful, but what a great idea to make a scratch-n-sniff book about camping! And I love it that not all of the scratch-n-sniff smells are "nice" smells. You can smell pine trees and wild roses, but also a campfire and a skunk. Fun!
From what I recall, the illustrations were dated (very 1970s) and the scratch and sniff? Well, it was horrible. Smelled like stinky crap.
Parents, don't waste your time.
And the author called me once at work to have her book carried in our retail stores that we operate in the national parks and forests of the Northwest. This is how I came across it in the first place. She was a nice lady, but really... scratch and smell is not a good idea unless you can get the publisher to provide some quality scents for your book.
I mean, the woods do not smell like pickles as far as I know.
