An orphan will discover her lineage resides in a world of magic and gods she never could have imagined…

A perfect read for fans of Holly Black and Rick Riordan.

Shiloh was simply a girl coasting by, waiting for the day she could leave her old life where she didn’t quite fit in and find herself. But she gets her wish sooner than later when she gets lost on her usual walk in the woods and crosses a bridge only to find herself attacked by strong little creatures with hissing voices and sharp teeth.

Now, Shiloh is facing a prophecy that made her very own mother and father sacrifice so much to get her to the human realm to protect her until the time was right. And that time is now.

She must face gods, both good and evil and her own magic she must control and hone in order to fulfill a destiny that she isn’t even sure if she is cut out for.

When tragedy strikes, will she run and try to forget all she has learned about herself, or will she stand and fight for the world she comes from?

I received a copy of this book for the author in exchange for an honest review.

Shiloh was just the ordinary girl, who never felt like she belonged. So when she finds out why it is that she never like she belonged. It opens up a whole new and exciting world.

I gave it a 3.5/5 stars. Only because I struggled with the writing style.

The storyline is exciting, and unique. It’s like nothing I’ve come across before. I feel like the world created was exciting, and the characters had their own uniqueness to them.

I was annoyed by the fact that even though no one knew Shiloh existed, apparently everyone knew who she was. Also the relationships just seemed too easy.

I wanted a bit more showing, and not just telling through this book. I think it was just a bit simple, and it may have been why it never captured my attention properly.
