Using Improv to Save the World (and me): A true story about letting go of everything, teaching & learning from people around the world, and unexpectedly becoming what you love

Rate this book
This is a true story about letting go of everything, teaching and learning from people around the world, and unexpectedly becoming what you love.
Belina is a world-renowned improvisation consultant. She teaches improvisation mindsets and practices to people in public workshops and inside organisations to help them become more creative, collaborative, and sustainable. And more delightful.
When the time came for her to leave Montreal, she had a choice: establish a new home routine somewhere else, or let go of having a home completely and deeply improvise her life. She decided, with some cosmic prompting, for the later.
Using her global network of friends, Belina charted a path through 12 countries to go all the way around the world, teaching applied improvisation as she went. What she hadn’t expected was how deeply she would be tested, on a personal level, on the skills she was teaching others in a professional context. The context was different, but the skills were the same.
This is where she understood it - improvisation is fractal. The same invitations for creativity, presence, and collaboration show up in our lives again and again. If Belina teaches you an improvisation skill to be a more collaborative leader, that same skill is going to help you to be a better parent, a better friend, and a better partner to discover how to survive during unprecedented weather.
Belina’s trip included extreme change, two earthquakes, civil unrest, a pink sandstorm, a host in meltdown, financial stress, and numerous profound gifts. In this book, Belina shares with you how she improvised with life.
Through this journey, Belina learned three things about Improvisation:
It is fractal.
It is universal. And,
It is a secret love technology.
The hope is that this book gives you some important life insights, and inspires you to let life test you to your core about the thing that you love.

A beautiful and heartfelt book about the power of Improv and the wonderful nature of humanity.

Belina has crafted a book as lovely as herself. Beautiful stories about kind, generous people and how we can use Improv to make the world a better place.
