Chase believes that Savannah destroyed their first love with betrayal – until he discovers the tragic truth.
Almost a decade after their turbulent break up, Chase is certain he is over Savannah. That all changes when Chase witnesses Savannah in a harrowing accident. Newly engaged to another, he must convince himself that he’s put the betrayal of his first love behind him.
But there is much more to Savannah’s story. Perhaps Chase is the one who should be seeking forgiveness.
Silently suffering after a high school sexual assault she’d covered up out of shame, Savannah arrives in Ecuador with a shattered heart, desperate to put it all behind her. But is that even possible? Far from home, Savannah’s situation takes a shocking turn, and her circumstances become dire. Choosing to finally trust those around her, Savannah faces a heart-rending decision.
When Chase learns the true story of Savannah’s past, will it be too late to change their lives forever?
Choose to read How To Tell as a sweet-heat level stand-alone Adult Romance or as the sequel to the YA book All The Promises We Break
After a couple university degrees and some world travel, Brenda Benny settled down to a life of helping others communicate their stories. One day she decided to start writing her own.
When she’s not shining in the glow of a computer screen, she can be found warming up in the sun after a freezing cold lake swim, chilling with friends at an outdoor music festival, skate skiing on a sunny day, or hiking to the summit because it’s there. She believes that dark chocolate and tortilla chips are two overlooked food groups.
Brenda is lucky enough to live amongst the awesome lakes and forests of Muskoka Ontario Canada with her husband, two sons, and their guinea pig named Chocolate.
Brenda Benny is back with another stunning novel about the complexity of love. How To Tell was impossible for me to put down. I found myself invested in Chase and Savannah's relationship in a way that I have not found in any of my other recent reads. Their love story is whimsically yet believable, and once again Benny had me longing for my own Chase to come sweep me off my feet. The supporting characters were well created and realistic, and I had no issues connecting with each one. How To Tell is the perfect companion book to All the Promises We Break, showing that while Savannah originally hid her rape from the world, recovery is possible if you just give it time. Benny describes Savannah's recovery in a plausible way, showing that you cannot always take a straight path to healing. Overall, this is my favourite Brenda Benny novel. She has taken the lovable characters from her last two books, and brought them to life in a completely knew way. I would 10/10 recommend this novel to any fans of a more PG rated romance. Brenda Benny, can you just write my life please???
