I got this book a few years ago and reread it the other day while thinking abut passing it onto a super Beatles's fan.
I enjoy the draw as much as the story of an imagined visit by the fab 4 to a teen's house. The scribbly drawings are quite wonderful and tell as much about the father daughter relationship as they do to highlight a bit about each of the Beatles and why they are so special.

This book has the appearance of a children's storybook-- flat size, large cartoonish illustrations. But its primary audience is women, women young enough to be in touch with their girlish fantasies and old enough to remember how difficult it could be to change from an adored pretty child into a mind-of-her-own adolescent. It's about daughters and fathers, and it's about the Beatles.
If you ever had a fantasy-- however fleeting-- of meeting favorite performers and naturally becoming a part of their lives-- this book will speak to you.
"We're sorry to disturb your supper, sir," says Paul, "but I think we've blown a gasket!" He points to the disabled limousine in front of the house, piles of steam billowing out of its hood...

Witty and droll NPR commentator Elaine Segal penned this fictional tale of the day the Beatles came to visit her childhood home. Illustrated by her artist husband, Lance Richbourg.
