Walt Disney Story Books-1939 D. C. Heath and Company Edition. Great Disney color illustrations-Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Pluto, Three Little Pigs, and Goofy
Donald Duck and His Friends is a group of stories about Donald Duck. Each story is about Donald Duck doing something with his friends. This book is an easy read for younger children. I would use this in my special education classroom by having them each read a story in groups and share with the class.
This book was very fun to read because it reminded me of my childhood. This book contains many stories of Donald Duck including, Donald's Ostrich, The New Wagon, The Fire Engine, and more. There are cute pictures that go with the story. Also the book has bigger text so its easier to read to yourself or to a group.
I have always loved Mickey Mouse and his friends and all of their different adventures. The stories are both easy to read as well as fun for students to read. I would use this book in my classroom as a fun independent reading book for my students to read either on their own time, or during the designated time for independent/silent reading time.
Very vintage Disney. I need to go find the cartoon versions of these, because in the print stories, Pluto speaks. I'm not sure he ever spoke in the cartoons, which leads to a discussion of Goofy the talking dog vs. Pluto the non-verbal dog.
This book is full of different stories with Donald Duck and his friends. Each story is different but is about Donald Duck and his friends. This is a nice change of point of view from all the stories about Mickey Mouse and friends. This is an easy read for elementary aged students.
A curious artifact, Ayer seems to have been provided some outlines of Disney shorts (maybe the Good House-Keeping pages?), and then invented new stories. Her grip on the Disney universe (or at least of what was there in 1939) is slight. Mickey, Donald and Goofy behave like children (Goofy even referencing his mother back home), and the plots are vaguely similar. Pluto speaks (!) and has his own house (!!) though he still seems to be the character we all know. Strangely Ayer indentifes Morty and Ferdie Fieldmouse as Morty and Monty "Mickey and Minnie's Nephews." What? Are Mickey and Minnie married? What happened to Mickey's sister!? A Bizzaro land indeed.
This book is about Donald Duck and has a coupe different stories. Each story is about Donald Duck doing something with his friends. This book is an easy read for younger children. This would be an easy read for elementary students.
