Divya Mohan tells a story about Mili, her brother, and monkey learning the valuable of empathy as a baby dragonfly gets lost in their home. Instead of hurting the baby dragonfly, Mili, her brother, and monkey see the baby dragonfly's perspective and allow the baby dragonfly to be released from their home to reconnect with the other dragonflies. "Mili and the Dragonfly: Responding with Empathy" is a great story for young children to learn the value of empathy and how to treat others with kindness. The illustrations are well drawn by Hend Moharram, and the book also contains a parent guide to help facilitate discussions between parents and their children about empathy. This is a must read for children from 3 to 6 years old.

A nice little book about empathy. This is a simple, clean and cute story about a little dragonfly which gets stuck in Mili and Milos house. They get a bit scared and think of squashing it but their mom makes the kids imagine themselves in the dragonflies shoes. Mili and Milo start filling empathy towards the little bug and set it free. The message is plain and clear for children to understand. My son got quite engaged in the story and I could see how his feelings of empathy grew along with the characters. The illustrations are bright and colorful, with a sweet girly touch to them. The style is clean and works well with kids. I would recommend this book for any child to help develop his sense of empathy towards others and especially the smaller and more vulnerable creatures.

Simple, relatable story about how to see things from others' point of view. The wording is simple and expressive, and the graphics are vibrant.

Good to see a message to the parents with how they can help children continue developing their empathy.

Looking forward to seeing more from the "Value Buds" series.

Teaching empathy

What sweet story! It is very important for children to learn kindness, empathy, caring for others and helping others. The earlier they learn these notions, the better. Highly recommended for kids learning to form friendship.
