Wow, if you ever wanted to read just one book and know (in theory) how to do it all, this is the book for you! Pieced, patterns, inset, applique, Crazy, strip, folds- it's all there. The table of contents is fairly useless, but that's the only mark against it. If you only have room for one book on quilting, this is it!

This book is actually comprised of four separate books by different authors. There is no proper introduction for the book that explains this, and at times it feels like a self-published book due to the lack of consistent formatting.

The first section, Practically Perfect Patchwork Quilts, details the traditional quilting process and the author does an excellent job of explaining why things are done the way they are. A lot of the steps seem superfluous, however, this is what makes the difference between any old quilt and one that looks professionally made.

I admit to skimming over the rest of the book (The Magic of Crazy Quilting, Strip-Cut Quilts, and Fast-Folded Flowers). As an another reviewer stated, there is "a lot of information." It can be overwhelming.

A lot of information. I skimmed through and took what I needed from a few sections to help me finish my first quilt. I basically used the sections on preparing a quilt sandwich, quilting, and binding and skipped the rest.

I checked this out from the library, my Mom & myself adore this book! I currently take classes at a local quilt shop but I definitely adding this to my personal library! Great reference & step by step instructions for any quilting level!
