A great first book on forensics. The general public has very little understanding of how important it is to have trained professionals look at evidence; most of us are influenced by what some experts have labeled the 'CSI Effect' - understanding of evidence based on popular police procedural dramas that 'solve' crime in an hour (!) This is a great 'grounding' book for a young person thinking about going into this field.
