I know early reader books have to be simple, but that does not mean the writing itself cannot be interesting or the execution distinguished. The end where she sometimes wishes to be younger could be nice, and the art gives a bit more than the words but not a lot. The book was flat and simplistic, not just easy and intended for a young audience.
