Erin and Grace are very different people. Erin has a monobrow and a slight problem with negativity; Grace is very #blessed and obsessed with her #girlsquad. One thing they have in common is a love of Charlotte Bronte and writing stories. And through their teacher-imposed critique group, they learn to see each other’s perspectives and become unlikely friends. But the path of true friendship doth not run smooth for the #brontebabes.

A brilliantly funny new story from Catherine Wilkins, author of the much-loved ‘My Best friend and Other Enemies’ series.
I grew up in Hertfordshire, with one younger brother, two dogs and one cat. And some parents.
I always loved stories and jokes. Even though I was absolutely terrible at spelling and grammar, I wanted to be a writer. I didn't know how to do that though, so I did a degree in Sociology and then worked lots of random jobs, while telling people that I wanted to be a writer.
I have been a pizza deliverer, insurance broker, shelf stacker, litter picker, photo-developer, receptionist, HR recruiter, admin assistant, office temp, cashier, waitress, customer service rep, barmaid, stand up comedian and a writer. I love being a writer the best.
I also love travelling, and am very lucky that I have been to lots of different places, including America, Africa, India, Thailand, France, Greece, Italy, Germany, Belgium and Cuba.
I now live in London with my husband and our two rescued cats (Smithers and Liono) and I hope that I get to write many more books and visit many more places.
Read this book together with my nearly seven-year-old. It led to getting her interested in English Literature, learning some brilliant new words and having conversations about the Brontë sisters and Jane Austen. Worth putting up with all the social media references, which she loved and found hilarious. And I really enjoyed it too!
It was pretty good, and I liked that it was actually a pretty realistic depiction of friendship (i.e. popular kids aren't necessarily the worst, uncool kids can be just as mean, the romantic subplot never develops beyond crush point), the characters rang true as Year Nines, and I appreciated the literary love.
Th weird friends fan club by Catherine Wilkins is a very short book. It is a quick read. The two characters go through very big emotional changes and there was an unexpected relationship. The girls are completely different. Like #girldrama. Great book for girls from grade 6-7.
Przeurocza, zabawna i mądra książka o nastoletnich dziewczynach, które marzą o tym, aby zostać pisarkami i uwielbiają Charlotte Bronte. Natomiast pozostają zamknięte w swoim gronie przyjaciół i uwięzione wobec oczekiwań innych. Wspaniała historia o przyjaźni, jej trudnych początkach i wspólnej pasji.
The love of Charlotte Brontë brings two completely opposite high school girls together as they explore their love for #Writing in a new creative writing club formed by their English teacher.
Erin is the typical unpopular girl, the one everyone picks on; Grace is #Blessed and the most popular girl at school - both have a few life lessons to learn. (Ha! Alliteration!)
Catherine Wilkins takes a witty look at adjusting to life in an almost coming of age way; dealing with issues like jealousy and betrayal and learning to be #TrueToYourself, this book is entertaining and fun!
