This story deals with a lot of issues for the 1890s. First the main Characters are Cassie and her father Hal who come from New York to Creede Colorado. While they are relocating we see a bit of how bad the garment district and tenements were in the 1890s in New York. The other main Character is Max, he is the Owner of the Haberdashery in Creede. This story deals with Child Labor, OCD, Brutality and love.
It's a very good story, well worth reading. Can be read as a standalone, however I dont recommend it as its #37 in a 49 Series. Better read in order as characters bounce from book to book. Love this Series

Bride in Blue

I really like how Christine tackled the condition of OCD. I never really thought of that as something that existed in the 1890s. I thought it was kinda cool Mrs. Pennyworth brought a slightly messy Cassie into Max's orderly life and everything still works out for the good.

Nice

I like this series. The angels just add that bit of mysticism that improves the whole mix. I really enjoyed the characters in this book. Was really lovely how they improved by their interactions. Love it when businesses thrive and the character's gifts are used for the good of all. Nice!

Wonderful read

Max- owns the haberdashery and has his own quirks
Cassie- on the run with her dad.
I enjoyed reading this captivating story that is fantastically written with charismatic characters and witty dialogue. The guardian angel was sweet and to the point.... sorta, but enough. Their story has a delightful HEA .

Can't wait for Charles story!

One of my favorites

I really enjoy reading stories about imperfect people. Max has a condition that could send him to an assylum and as a result has become a longer. Cassie and her father are on the run. With the help of a guardian angel Cassie and Max are able to rescue each other.

I really enjoyed this one. the twists and turns were well written and very interesting to me. I wish there had been a little more clarification of what was happening in the last chapter (not the epilog) but that just might be a personal need and not a flaw in the book.
I recommend this book to all who have enjoyed those earlier in the series.

Very good story with a lot of twists.

Cassie and her father are forced to leave their home because of a crooked boss/slumlord. No way will Cassie marry the man. Creed is where they end up because of a strange woman in Ohio.
Max has a counting problem because it keeps him calm and grounded. He doesn't like changes. What will happen when he and Cassie meet. Really loved this.

Sweet Romance

I loved Max and Cassie's story! Max has OCD, and feels like he is crazy. Cassie just needed to get away from her scary boss that fired her family to get her to marry him. Yuck! I don't feel like the angel had to work very hard on either of them, which made for a sweet story!

A refreshing view of a guardian angel

A harsh but factual presentation of living conditions for persons working in the garment district of early New York city. Max and Cassie as a couple compliment one another. It is as though the two halves final come together to make a whole. Life improved for Cassie's father as well.

Mrs. Pennyworth is an angel!

How fun to meet the dear Mrs. Pennyworth again! I love how she watched over two people who never would have found one another without her special gift.
You'll be sad, angry, fearful and blessed by the characters in this sweet book. It's a quick and easy read. Enjoy!

Loved it!!

Oh so good! OCD is such a misunderstood disease even today I can't imagine what it would have been to have it in the 19th century. Christine Sterling wove it into her story so well. I loved reading about Cassie and Max.

Wonderful Story!

This is the 37th story in the Cowboys and Angels series. It's from an author new to the series. She did a wonderful job of creating new characters and dovetailing them into the Creede setting. This is a very enjoyable series.

Cassie and Max

I loved the theme of OCD! My whole family had it. I learned to leave a few things out on the kitchen counter to help me from clearing everything off. Gradually I was able to relax! - Babs
