The author has collected lots of true ghost stories and spooky tales from the Devon, England. From bottomless holes, strange noises, poltergeists and white women, haunted roads, hairy hands and harbingers of death, they are all here. And most are presented in a way that lets the reader make up their own mind as to the validity of the story, but when the author does break in to make a comment, it can be a bit annoying. Very enjoyable, especially if you are planning a trip to that part of the world.
This was more textbook style historical accounts of various hauntings. While dry, I found it interesting, but those looking for something spooky/scary should steer clear.
