The only book I found on this interesting conflict. Written in 1976, it related the story in a John Toland style, anecdotal and full of nice tidbits of information. I recommend it as an easy read covering a campaign few if any have heard of. I only became interested after seeing a wargame published on the subject http://www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgam... .

I am happy to recommend this book. Mockler does include some quotes in French, which are decipherable using context, etymology and my high school French form four decades ago. Well worth the effort.
