Cheryl developed ME, a chronic illness, in her early 20s. This is her story as she fights against ME as it ravages her body. It is not just a fight with increasingly severe illness but with those she came into contact with as well as she faced disbelief and abuse at every turn. This is her story of how she eventually overcame the illness and found healing.
I felt that the book could have done with a bit more proofreading, as I did encounter the odd grammatical error. There also seemed to be some repetition within the book, though maybe this is intentional. However, for such a short book, Cheryl packs a lot in and it is very readable. I found it hard to put her story down and read about three quarters of it in one sitting! As I have M.E. myself, this was probably way too much and I had to continue reading the next day. I have found it a privilege to be allowed to share Cheryl's experiences. I would recommend this book to anybody who wants to understand more about Myalgic Encephalomyelitis and how to cope with the illness. I have been blessed through reading Cheryl's story and I hope you will be too. Thank you Cheryl.
