A book is always more than just a book -- more than just words on a page. The fourth title in the Story S-R-E-T-C-H-E-R-S series created due to teacher requests for more options that focus on science, environment, multicultural, and literature specifically for 1st through 3rd grades.
This title was published in 1994 and the titles and activities should still be good for the classroom. But even if you find the titles dated you will at least learn how to take a book and S-T-R-E-T-C-H it in at least 5 different ways.
NOTE: This is the series, along with a children's literature class in college, that got me in the habit of creating curriculum on my own and which I still do today.
