This is a book of six short stories, originally published by the American Tract Society in the 1800's. The author is unknown. I originally thought these were fiction, but as I was reading through this book, I really wondered if these stories were all based on real/true events.

I appreciated how each main character behaved with integrity, even though others didn't necessarily understand or appreciate their behavior. And then how, in various ways, they were rewarded for their integrity - sometimes years later. Two key factors I took away were - 1.) the importance of living with integrity, even if you think know one sees you, and 2.) God will always bless and honor a life lived with integrity, according to His Word, even though it might not happen immediately, nor in a way we might expect.

Our families need more examples of people willing to live by their convictions and stand up for what is right, according to God's Word, and not our own human reasoning.

I would give this 4 1/2 stars, if I could.

Great book! Teaches how important it is to not regard money and riches as if they are your life. True happiness is found in Jesus Christ, and as long as you trust in Him, you have everything you need.

This was a short book that my wife read to me as we traveled. I liked it because it emphasized godly character traits, such as hard work, diligence, contentment, etc.
