Each chapter takes a principle, helps the reader understand it, and gives examples, plus a quiz on the subject. A great help if you seem to guess right half the time or less when playing the dummy.
This is the second "Play a ....with Mike Lawrence" I have read, perhaps not quite as good as the first but still very good. It's like being inside Mike's expert head as he evaluates his cards, the bidding and the opponents. He chooses to tell the reader his estimate of the hands as they are played, but the actual result of each hand only when all the boards in the match have been played. Reasonable, but a little disorienting as you move through the book. Still, you just can't beat Mike Lawrence as an analyst or a writer; he's as good as they come.
