Nothing vengeful about this heroine. Her revenge, or whatever she was cooking in her little head, was so forgetful and nonexistent to the almost dull plot. There was some chemistry between them but never tension. I don’t get how or why they were even attracted to each other. Nothing exactly leads up to any of their intimate scenes. The rare moments occurs randomly and doesn’t give at all.

Also, what’s the point of having the heroine going out per the hero’s strict instructions to purchase a virginal, white dress for the party, if she was just to go unnoticed by him? In fact, the whole party scene was so irrelevant. Instead of writing a dazzling moment for him or a memorable moment for them, the author decided that the party scene should take another route. Yes, it sure did, as the hero started bitching at the heroine on the spot when he realized that she had allowed his boy-Friday to go off in the day, and it had been hours since the young fella have not return. So, they both rushed out to find this boy-Friday in the middle of the night. Hero was mostly concern that his boy-Friday may have gotten into drugs (again). Boy-Friday has a past of touching those things, fyi. Anyways, they soon found boy-Friday, and yes he was drugged the F out. Gullible or dumb, this young fella had met a crowd of other young men and after hitting up the bar with the group, boy-Friday somehow ended up unconscious and to be found by the hero and heroine then! How heroic of them? I get it, the author really wanted to show us that the hero is a good man and care about other human beings. The heroine is starting to think that right now, though, what does she ever thought of him is the real question. Home girl is clueless of her own head to start. Anyways, it was not the turn of events I was looking forward to. They return to the party, as nothing should have happened, and as nothing dazzling ever happened at this party as it was never meant to. The heroine might as well be invisible, she keeps going unnoticed and unappreciated, I’m sure!!! Twice in her party getups he never compliments her. But, unrealistically, somehow that night he intrude her bed and they somehow attempt at something out of the blue, because per hero’s words, she must put up with him until the OW return from her night out with some of the party guests, or whatever he was saying. Not very climactic or romantic. Just random and not even cute! I don’t see the sense here at all! DNF.

Revenge was a dangerous game!
Until an intriguing ad led her to financial wizard Cabot Steele, Danielle had despaired of ever avenging her aunt's death. Steele had devastated her family, and he would be made to pay!

Danielle had been hired to pose as Steele's fiancee on a Mediterranean cruise, and now she could toy with him as a cat does a mouse.

Who else but a fiancee could discover his weakness? Trouble was, she also discovered his strength!

All the elements were there for a lovely, enjoyable story, but somehow it didn't click with me. Possibly I'd like it more on a re-read, but this was just slow.
