Lana lives in Perth, Western Australia and loves writing Paranormal/ Fantasy and Sci-fi Romance. When she’s not writing, you’ll find her creating art and designing book covers. She also fights evil by moonlight, wins love by daylight and never runs from a real fight.
The concept was interesting, but there were many flaws in its execution. So many things didn’t add up to make sense. Details were changed from one book to the next about a person. For example, Jed showed Roo his star map on his stomach at Cash’s cottage in Margaret River right before they left for the states, but later, it was written he never showed a star map. The star map idea in itself was flawed because it was said to say where someone was from, but shouldn’t the other players, especially Cash, been able to look at one and tell where it led? Cash’s being so huge should have been able to distinguished by Marc.
Then their is Cash’s unique situation with his soul. How was he born again so many times when any other Seraphim who died on Earth’s souls would be gone forever, unlike the Nephilim who’s souls go purgatory and then returned later to the Empire?
Then there were the rules to the Game, broken by Urser numerous times, yet at the Tribunal meeting at the Castle, Cato said Urser wouldn’t kill humans because he would be breaking the rules of the game…. right after he broke rule number one of not outing gods to the humans… made zero sense.
Then there was the major running of the stupidity of Roo throughout all the books, yet when she finally had a good idea or did something right, the author tried to write her as if she was insightful, intuitive and intelligent the entire time, backing it up with statements from either Cash or Marc. I’m like seriously! Our MC had a thing for Prince, the artist, but when we found out who she was, no correlation was made between that and Alkiemon…not even in the end. I was hoping it was supposed to be some subconscious thing, but it wasn’t.
Anyway, nice longer series. The afterword said it was her first one so pretty good start. I read an elven one from her before and it was pretty good so practice makes perfect. See my notes, highlights and commentary on Goodreads. Happy reading!
It always amazes me how the writer can come up with such a fantastic story. Always remembers all the elaborate details that make the story such a great read. Keeps you so enthralled that you have difficulty putting it down to complete daily chores or go to bed. I will miss these characters as I move on to a new series. Everything I have read of Lana's has been absolutely awesome. I highly recommend.
What an amazing story! Loved the characters and the world of gods, demigods, and witches. I’ve just recently discovered this author and believe I have read nearly all of her books and waiting on more. The storylines flow seamlessly with great pacing. The plot is well designed with many twists and turns along the way. Great reading for all urban fantasy and paranormal readers. Highly Recommended!
