Faith has been enjoying her normal life outside of the agency by spending time with her boyfriend, Ashton Mathis. They have become inseparable since meeting during Faith’s final mission with the agency several months prior. Although they seem to be safe from the events that unfolded during that final mission, both of them are having feelings of uneasiness and find themselves looking over their shoulders at all times. Faith Evans has moved on from her previous life as a smart, quick-thinking, tough-girl working undercover for a sister unit to the FBI. She's young, intelligent, and able to handle herself in difficult situations. Even at such a young age, she's able to appreciate finer things in life, such as being with her boyfriend, Ashton, in a small town, and helping him run his grocery store. Dodging bullets and using martial arts against thugs desperate to harm the United States is a thing of the past for her. No longer does she have to pretend to be someone she's not. Instead, she can be herself, be with Ashton, use her own name, and simply be herself.

...Until now.

When people from their past come calling unexpectedly, Faith and Ashton are suddenly drawn back into a world they had hoped to have left behind. These people are desperate, professional, capable, and have resources to make things difficult for those who oppose them. This is proven when Faith disappears, leaving Ashton desperate to find her.

With Faith's trusted friends (Wolf and Juro), Ashton begins a journey to locate the woman he loves. But the people who took her want something only 'he' can provide. And if he does, it could place the United States of America in grave danger. In a day and age when technological superiority makes a difference between nations standing equal amongst each other, this is a tough decision which leaves Ashton only one path to take...

...He must find Faith or lose her forever.

This is an exciting sequel to Perception and Deception (book one). The characters are real and the kind you think about long after you've finished reading the story. The action is intense, and more plausible than what one might find in other stories. The author keeps the reader glued to pages with a keen eye for detail and a taut writing style. Perception and Deception II is the kind of book you can read and enjoy without having read book one, which is to say it's a story all its own rather than a continuation. I'm glad to see this is a series and look forward to Perception and Deception III.

I highly recommend this book and the series to readers who enjoy suspense, romance, action and adventure.

This was an excellent sequel in an action-packed spy series with star-crossed love and brain-washing and sociopath nerds; basically, everything a spy story needs. It rather put me in the mind of Mission Impossible III, only cleaner (I only noticed one bad word) and with a female lead. An enjoyable story that I heartily recommend and want to see more of.

I received a complimentary copy from the author, and the opinions are my own.

Andrea Hintz adds an exciting new chapter to her actiony Perception and Deception series in Perception and Deception II! After surviving their undercover mission, Faith Evans and Ashton Mathis decide to elope. Unfortunately, neither get to see happily ever after as Faith disappears, leading Ashton into a desperate search to rescue her. Hintz manages to balance action, realistic and fun characters, suspense, and unforeseen twists into each instalment of this series! I love Faith and Ashton’s bond, which only adds to the intensity of this one. If you love action with a great heart, be sure to shoot your way through Perception and Deception II!

I loved this book! Like I said for the 1st book this series is amazing. It gets better every book. I love how Faith and Ashton get married and attempt to settle down. I hate how right after they are married things go to shit again. I hate how Faith gets kidnapped and how Ashton has no idea where she is. I love how Wolf is instantly on the case and trying to find her quickly. I hate how Gary is still involved with things and how he is so determined to get his hands on Ashton's parents blueprints still. I love how they are able to work through things and how Faith is returned to Ashton is the end. I love how much they love each other. Once again this was such an enthralling read. 10 stars!!

Faith Evans (previously known by her codename, Felix), has chosen Ashton over her career with RLIP. Although she loved working for her parents’ organization as an agent, she is ready to hang up her gun and badge for a chance at a normal life.

However, a normal life is not ready for her. Kidnapped by an escapee, and framed to be helping said escapee, Faith wonders if she will be able to figure out how to get out of this one. When she is injected with a serum that causes her to lose her memory, all seems lost. Will Ashton be able to find her, clear her name, and bring her memory back?

Yet again Andrea Hintz wraps her readers in a flurry of adventure with Perception and Deception II: A Spy Series. By putting Faith in trouble, Andrea’s readers are able to get to know Ashton, Juro, and Wolf on a deeper level, enticing the pages to keep turning. Include an absence of profanity, sexual content, as well as spelling nor grammatical errors and a perfect rating of 5 out of 5 stars is easily achieved.

Given this is still a spy series, there are going to be actions that may cause distress. Please read with caution if any of these may be an issue for you: memory loss, homelessness, being framed, kidnapping, alcohol consumption, deceit, hand to hand combat, gun violence, and robbery.

All things considered, Perception and Deception II brings a new aspect to the characters you cannot help but love. As the third book has already been released, and this reader is dying to know what happens next, expect another review to be out quickly.

Thank you to #PerceptionandDeceptionII, #SpecialAgentPublishingHouse, and #AndreaHintz for the opportunity to read this book and give my honest review.

I love a second book that has the same people as the first and this one is a winner. There are 3 books to date and I think it would make a great mini series for tv. If you enjoyed the first book then you're going to love this one. Happy reading.

I read this series during the COVID-19 quarantine and the story really helped to distract from all of this. Looking forward to the third book!
