A raw and emotional story, brilliantly written with fervour by Victoria Johns
I was immediately thrust into the world of Gigi, a young girl living in fear of her brother, a young girl that endures far too much sadness in her young life than any girl should at her age and a young girl with determination and bravery.
Gigi has been subject to verbal and physical abuse for most of her life from her brother and is counting down the days until she turns eighteen, finishes school and each day she lives in hope for freedom, not just for herself but also for her mother.
Gigi's story is sad, dark, her character latches onto you and you don't want to let go until she finally has light in her life and that light appears in the form of a young biker called Gears.
Gigis story was brutal, unfair but when she meets Gears their story becomes heartwarming, emotional, gripping, intense and I was completely swept away with their journey to love.
Gigi's story becomes a book in two halves, you are taken from the harsh beginning of Gigi, experience her freedom and finding love and then the sadness of her separation from Gears.
Have you ever had one of those moments were you face palm and shout at the character, like "oh no what are you doing?", well, I had a moment like that with Gigi but thankfully the story picks up again ten years later when Gigi and Gears are re-united but that doesn't go how I thought it would either, Gears has changed, he's angry for Gigi's sudden disappearance following a choice she felt she had to make for survival. Gigi had some explaining to do as well as winning back the heart of Gears. I didn't always agree with the characters choices and one of those choices turns this heartwarming journey that was unfolding for Gigi and Gear's into a story of second chances but I wouldn't of had it any other way, I loved Gears and Gigi's journey and I felt I took it right along with them .
I felt the heartbreak the heartwarming moments the sadness and the joys, this story pokes and prods at your emotions but most of all I loved the happy, the hea that I longed for throughout this story.
The MC is a family focused Mc and I can't wait for more from these interesting characters I already have my eye on who I would love to have their own story next.
Gig Contains no cheating, can be read as a standalone.
*Contains scenes of rape that does not go into detail but is present.
Recommended MC second chance romance. Also recommended book one Angel which is Angel and Wolfe's story, a childhood to adult love story, Both stories are stand-alone.

Gigi is book 2 of the Black Sentinels MC series, John’s is a new to me author I was looking forward to reading this new MC series; I haven’t read book 1 but I will be going back to discover Wolf and Angels story.
Gigi was living day by day; her mother was her number 1 priority and making sure she stayed off her brothers’ radar when he got into one of his moods; which ended up being everyday lately. When trying to help her mother Gigi meets Gears; when he reaches out to help, she finally puts her trust in someone to start a new life, one that she deserves.
With a 10-year time jump Gigi is back seeking help once from the Sentinels but with someone in tow. Gears hasn’t forgotten and neither has Gigi; can they get their HEA or will Gigi be forever running?
I personally enjoyed this story; I was shocked at the large time jump but it worked well for this story and these characters. John’s has some great minor characters that I can’t wait to read about in future books.

Well well well I think I may just want Gears all to myself!
So this had a slightly different take of an MC read but it showed some kick as ladies throughout and made the story so much more.
Gigi doesnt have a simple life... she is stuck at home living in hell with a brother she tries to avoid at all costs.. youd think she would just leave but nothing is so simple as she cant leave her mum behind.
Her life takes an unexpected turn when her breaks down one day when Gears stops off to help her with a car breakdown.
But nothing is straightforward when her life changes for the better then the worse again making her break a promise to them both.
Cut to 10 years later when life twists and thrusts them back into each others paths again.
Highs, lows, love, laughs, and so much sadness are brought out in this book and I honestly didnt want to put it down.
I now hope that we get Waves story at some point.. a girl can dream cant she ;-)

All I can say is when these bikers fall they fall hard no matter what the circumstances and Gears is no exception. He fell and fell hard for Gigi, a girl in desperate need of help and escape from a situation she was in and she found that with Gears only her happiness was short lived and she has to leave. Fast forward 10 yrs and she is back in the hell hole she escaped from all those years ago. How will Gears take the news that she is back, Will the ghost of her past come back to haunt her. With appearances from the MC, Angel and Wolf and Gears mom (whom I so love) we find ourselves loving every minute of this journey. My heart broke for Gigi and the situation she found herself in and I just wanted to take her away and keep her safe... I loved to epilogue and I thought it was just perfect.

I love Gigi so much, shes a strong character who faces so much but still rallies hard to protect those around her. The story made me wince and cry then shout what?!?!?! Such a brilliant book, it pulled me right in and I couldn't put it down. I really enjoy Victoria's writing style and look forward to reading the next in the series.

Loved this book. I went through so many emotions whilst reading. Really gets you hooked! Definitely read book 1 first. Which I loved and I was a little unsure about book 2, but I was proven wrong and though this was even better!

Sweet MC Romance

I loved Angel and couldn't wait for this but i was not expecting this book to have me in tears.
What Gigi went through at the beginning of the story broke my heart and i cried for her, god i wanted to kill her brother.

Having devoured book 1 in this series, I couldn’t wait to get cracking on Gigi. I certainly wasn’t disappointed.
What I’ve loved with both Gigi and its predecessor Angel, is the way that Victoria Johns writes her lead characters. They are written so empathetically for both the female and male leads, that you are invested from the get go.
Gigi focuses on Gigi and Gears story. When they meet its coincidence and Gears is what Gigi needs, but circumstance and fate have another plan for them. Again the characters are written in such a manner that you are fighting for them and praying for the strength they both need

I’m not usually a fan of MC books, however, I really enjoyed the first book so thought I’d give this one a try as well. I wasn’t disappointed. The love between these two characters could literally be felt leaping off the pages. The suspense and hardship had my heart breaking and stuttering constantly. This author has proven to have a real aptitude for drawing you into these characters and keeping you there. I couldn’t wait to see what would happen and now I can’t believe it’s really over. This book is most definitely one I will be rereading after I get over my book hangover. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to truly be consumed by the life and love of these two phenomenal characters.

Gigi is strong even with everything she is going through. Her brother is the worst one.
She stays for her mom and has to take all her brother’s abuse. She isn’t leaving the life a nearly 18 years old woman should.
Gears and the MC is a strong world. I love their family. They don’t stay aback, they think before acting but they will always be there.

Holy Cow.... what an emotional read this turned out to be. My heart broke for Gigi and the life she had to endure in order to survive, I cheered her on when she stood up for herself and was way too excited when she found a bit of happiness. Yes I was that person who was right in that book alongside her totally caught up in her life and I loved every minute of it -good and bad.
