A serviceable account of the campaign let down by an occasionally muddled narrative and too much second guessing of the protagonists.

A bit disappointing, this is not an account of the battle so much as a string of could have and should have opinions of the writer, it was redeemed slightly by the judicious use of contemporary journals and letters which turned out to be the most interesting bits.
