This book tells the story of a girl who falls into a lake while fishing. After she Falls in the water, she goes on a trip along the bottom of the lake meeting different types of animals that live there. On her trip, she meets different creatures such as an eel, an octopus, a giant turtle, and even a shark. At the end of the story the girl wakes up realizing that her entire experience was just a dream. This would be a good book for students in first or second grade to read. As it would give them a good overview of what an aquatic ecosystem might look like. After reading the story, you could do an activity with students in which they write a similar narrative about visiting an ecosystem of their choosing.

This book would be great when teaching students about the oceans, the animals that live their or even when teaching students about habitats. This book is great of all grade levels but especially for 1-3rd.
