Sometimes you can't help falling in love

Meredith's mom dropped out of college when she got pregnant. There's no way Meredith will let any boy derail her dreams.

Sam is captivated by the pretty freshman with the big blue eyes. He's on a one-man mission to date her.

What happens when a shy stubborn country girl meets a warm charming city boy? Can Sam's persistence overcome Meredith's reluctance?

Of course, Meredith has her band of college friends dubbed The Princesses from their freshman year Halloween costumes. Meet the princesses in their freshman year of college and accompany them through their twenties as we follow Meredith and Sam's story.

This is a stand-alone book, but much more fun if read along with the other Princess stories.

Work Stuff -- I've spent many years working high-tech in Silicon Valley at both large companies and start-ups. This has given me plenty of war stories and a rich understanding of how things work in the valley. I use this as a backdrop to my stories.

Family Stuff -- I'm a mom of a wonderful teenage daughter.

Book Stuff --
Coaching my daughter's soccer team was the inspiration for the Princess series. I watched all these wonderful girls and imagined what they would be like in ten years.

The Prince stories were inspired by all the single 30-somethings I know who are all working hard and still looking for that someone special.

The Reunion series was motivated by me going back to my high school reunion. The love stories are all from my imagination but many of the interactions were real.

Background Stuff --
Most of my stories take place in Silicon Valley. Not only do I live in Silicon Valley but I find it a unique and dynamic place with lots of smart people who work really hard. It also has its own culture I rarely find correctly represented in our media. I think most people who write about Silicon Valley have never worked at a Silicon Valley high-tech company. In other words, they really don't understand why it is the way that it is, they just write about the manifestations of what they see. I hope my books are a fun and an under-the-cover look, at high-tech Silicon Valley-style.

When I was looking for a second location for my stories, I wanted a place that would be different from Silicon Valley. That's why I chose Western New York -- where I grew up. I liked that it was three thousand miles away so the weather was different, the land was different, and it has a very different economic base.

Why I write --
A few years ago I had a cardiac arrest, spent four days in a coma, and lost ten days of my memory. With my damaged heart, I spent the rest of the year laying on my couch trying to get oxygen to my muscles and reading ... a lot. I found I liked books that have a first-person narrative, are relationship-driven and have a happy ending. These three characteristics were in all romance novels.

My Niche --
What I didn't see in most of the romance books was intelligent women with non-traditional jobs, a strong group of friends, and a loving relationship with their families. Since I have no desire to try to fix a broken man or date an unrepentant bad boy I found the typical romance men to be unappealing. That doesn't mean my hero's don't have issues. It's just their issues can be solved by opening up and falling in love with a great woman.

Where I get my ideas --
I got my idea for my books from life. My first series “The Princesses” is about 20-something men and women who live in Silicon Valley and are transitioning from college to full adulthood. For my second series, “The Princes”, I aged the protagonists up so they are dealing with issues people in their 30's face. With my third series “Reunion” I felt the issues and lifestyle of adults in their late thirties were universal and the stories did not need to be tied to Silicon Valley.

The author provided a copy of the ePub in exchange for an honest review.

Meredith and Sam is the final instalment in the Princesses of Silicon Valley series by Anita Claire. Meredith and Sam are endearing characters. Their immediate connection at college drives their journey. As their story unfolds, the characters reveal their personal history. Meredith’s mother death makes her determined to succeed academically. She does not want any distractions. Sam’s patience and support are refreshing. The author brilliantly weaves all the princesses into this page-turner. This character-driven novel does not disappoint. Meredith and Sam can be read as a stand-alone but the series is truly delightful. Anita Claire is a talented storyteller.

Meredith is the last one of the "princesses" story. Through all of the other books Meredith and Sam have always been this couple who are entwined into the stories and it is nice to finally hear theirs.

Sam first meets Meredith as she joins college, he being a bit older is involved in the orientation of new starters. For Sam, its instant attraction whereas Meredith thinks Sam is just a nice potential friend. Her focus, as the first person in her family to attend college, is to do well and concentrate purely on study.

Sam manages to work his way into Meredith's life and the two are inseparable. I think it's great how he becomes part of the group with the girls who are all a bunch of very strong female characters.

A few surprises in this book, but a wonderful end to the series.

ARC from author for honest review. I thought all the characters were fun but it detracted from Meredith and Sam a little by having so many details to learn about each.
It's very difficult line to follow to include each one from each separate book in the series into this book.
I did not enjoy the time Sam was in Switzerland. I would of given up the book but I was close to being done. Any magic I felt between Sam and Meredith was soured from then on until the end of book. The three stars are for the book up to then.
Sorry, not sorry.

I got this book from the authoe in exchange for an honest review.

If been following the princess series since the start and I really like all of them but ai have to say that I just love the background story of this book, the getting to know how the princesses met each other and why Sam always seem to know so much about them.

I also really enjoy that we get to know a little more about what happen with the others after thier books ended.

Book series getting to an end are always a little sad, but ik terms of endings this is a pretty good one.

Fun read. I read the other "Princess" stories. You didn't need to read them to enjoy this book. This book adds a lot to the arc of all the stories since it goes back to the "princesses" college days. We learn how all the "princesses" met and became friends. What I liked is the book shows us how Meredith and Sam meet. The story brings the princess story to the future, past the stories found in the previous books.

Interesting

This is the first book that I have read in this series (even tho it is book #8). The style of writing is very different for me but made for good story telling. Meredith and Sam each grow up as the story goes on. Keeps you wondering (and keeps your interest) whether their story will continue. Either together or apart.

HONEST REVIEW FOR FREE ARC

From the moment Sam meets Meredith at Stanford Freshman orientation, he feels a strong reaction, but as an upperclassman, he realizes he needs to act cautiously. Meredith is like a gentle bird and he doesn’t want to scare her off.

Meredith has worked extremely hard to get a full ride to Stanford. She arrives by train and bus to orientation, alone, rolling a damaged suitcase and carrying her quilt and a box with her possessions. She is leaving an abusive step-mom and a weak dad back home in the Midwest. Meredith is determined that nothing is going to stop her from getting an education. Her mom got pregnant in college, dropped out, and never went back. THAT is NOT going to happen to her.

Sam suddenly starts appearing outside Meredith’s classes and at the cafeteria where she tends to lunch. One might think he was stalking her, and you might be right, but it isn’t to do her harm, it’s to get to know her. He invites to and her friends to a few parties at his frat house, and things begin to slowly develop between the two. At the Halloween party, Meredith and her posse decide to dress as Disney princesses. Meredith will be Cinderella because of her blonde hair and navy eyes. Sam surprises her as Prince Charming. Despite Meredith’s resolution, the two become a couple, but Sam vows to do everything in his power to help Meredith finish her college education.

This sweet love story goes on for several years, and for most of it, Sam and Meredith seem to have a “charmed” life together. The couple not only love each other, but truly support each other. The secondary characters are people we have met before and most are well “fleshed” out. The author lost me for a while near the end because I struggled with a personal decision that was made, but that was temporary.

Anita Claire, thank you for the ARC. Readers will enjoy this latest installment of the Princesses.

This book was sent to me by the author for an honest review. The book started off good but by the time I got to The end of the book, I was disappointed. This book had too many princess characters to keep track of. Sam is attracted to Meredith right away but she was just a bit wary of him when they first meet at college. He continues to pursue her, trying to convince her that she can date him and still pass her classes. Their relationship progresses over several years until they get into a big argument over a job promotion for Sam. The promotion means that he has to move to Europe but Meredith does not want to move with him since she isn't quite done with her schooling. She decides that they need a break, mainly so she can concentrate on school. She uses the excuse that since he was her first and only, that how does she know he is really the one for her? He tells her that he will wait for her while working overseas. However, that doesn't last long and that got me upset. If he loved her the way he claimed, he would have waited for her. The ending could have been better.

What a great way to wrap up the Princess series!! I really liked how everything was seamlessly brought around to full closure when you didn’t even realize that you needed it! (And what about that Gray plot twist?! LOL)

Meredith and Sam’s story was so sweet and pure and innocent - I absolutely fell in love with it (and them). There was so much heart in this story and everything about it just naturally flowed. It was a fast read that covered a lot of ground but nothing felt rushed and no word or page was wasted.

It was great getting to know these characters and I’m looking forward to The Reunion series!!!
