About the author

Laurence Marcellus Larson was a Norwegian born, American educator historian, author and translator. Educated at Drake University and the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Larson was briefly appointed to the UW faculty as a Scandinavian languages and history professor before joining the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1907, where he taught until his retirement in 1937
