These aren't for new artists looking for stroke by stroke, or even shape over shape.
The instructions at the beginning of the book tell you freehand each step. Some of them are fairly complex, and the instructions KNOW you will fail at it. They expect you to do it over and over. Honestly, I hate this approach. Add like 40 more transitional steps! I wouldn't get a guidebook if I could already do rough outlines.
