Using the As/400: An Introduction

This text introduces students to various keyboards, signing on, sending messages, using the on-line help, and using the text editor. Hands-on presentation lets students read about a concept and then apply it. Each task is presented in two ways for easier comprehension. First, students learn a concept step-by-step using the menus; then, the Control Language (CL) command shortcuts are introduced as a tip. The text moves incrementally from simple to complex topics, allowing students to master skills easily. It uses a condensed approach with references to the appropriate IBM AS/400 manual included in every chapter. Review questions, end-of-chapter computer exercises, and topical summaries guide the student learning process.
