Thomas R. Schreiner (PhD, Fuller Theological Seminary) is James Buchanan Harrison Professor of New Testament Interpretation at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. He is the author or editor of numerous books, including New Testament Theology; Magnifying God in Christ; Apostle of God's Glory in Christ; and Romans in the Baker Exegetical Commentary on the New Testament.

Although it is not an easy read, it was a book I did not want to put down. I loved learning about Calvinism in both volumes of this work.

Nice "on the ground" defense of Calvinism, written over twenty years ago when open theism was the hot trend in evangelical-ish theology. Excellent contributors such as John Piper, Bob Yarbrough, Steve Bugh, and Tom Schreiner lay out an (in my opinion) indisputable case. See especially the editor's take on Romans 9. It is a glorious theology, and read this (hard to find) volume in order to fathom its depths.

Not an easy read, but a great defense of Calvinism, especially after reading Pinnock's book.
