On the Way to Supermanhood

Rate this book
What if man is a "transitional being," as Sri Aurobindo said long ago, only preparing the way for what is to come next? And perhaps we don't need any computers or mental acrobatics to prepare the next man. Perhaps we don't need any spiritual exercies or religions either. Perhaps BEING is enough. But being with a fire of truth in the heart, with a cry of need calling out to the truth of the earth, a cry of suffocation amid the senseless chaos of the present earth - a call for what we ARE behind the game of looks and the mental machinery which shackles us so cleverly. Perhaps a simple cry is enough. (Country of USA)

While the sentiments of a deeper, purer, and more real existence can create a somewhat euphoric thought experience, this book was filled with a lot of fluffy, redundant, and conflicting generalities.

The following are not direct quotes but a taste of the absurdity within.

"Everything and nothing happens in a second and all at once. Stop trying to capture moments and let the moments capture you without time. Without life there is no death. Let go of material life to live forever. Remember, however, that the Truth cannot be found within or come from this material world. It always is, always was, and always will be. Truth is eternal, and you can join it!"

(Then, multiply the above into roughly 200 pages.)

Thus, I don't think I found much truth within this book. And if I were to believe it as truth, I wouldn't have needed to have read it in this book, nor could I have reliably found it in something of this world. Such is the conundrum of otherworldliness.
